Week 3 * Day 3 * Easter

Wednesday: Chicks
Buy Baby Chicks
From all things eggs to now an animal that hatches from them!  Let's have some fun with learning about baby chicks.

You can begin with sharing with your child some basic facts such as:

  • Baby chickens are called chicks.
  • A male chicken is a rooster.
  • A female chicken is a hen.
  • A chicken is a bird.
  • Birds hatch from eggs.
  • Birds have feathers.
Exploring pictures and videos can also be a fun way to spark your child's interest.  The youtube link below is a short 'learn about chickens' video for kids!

Sing along to this 5 Little Chicks song
*to the tune of 5 Little Ducks

5 little chicks went out one day (hold up 5 fingers)
Into the barn and around some hay
Mother Hen says cluck, cluck, clack!
4 little chicks came wandering back. (hold up 4 fingers)

Repeat with 4 little chicks...3 little chicks....2 little chicks...1 little chick...

Mother Hen went out one day
Into the barn and around some hay
Mother Hen said (this time be loud!) CLUCK, CLUCK, CLACK!!!

5 little chicks came wandering back!
